alright, maybe i am an over-achiever, or maybe a multi-tasker, I may possibly have OCD or what's the one when you can't focus on only one thing at a time, oh yeah...ADD. Whatever the diagnosis...I am working on 3 sweaters these right now. I was teaching a sweater class this winter and at the time I was making lots and lots of hats to sell in my friend John Bell's shop. As soon as the class was over, I decided to make a sweater. I was so excited about that idea that I found three that I wanted to make. one is for my mom. It's Wicked from www.zephyrstyle.com

Then I decided to make one for me. it's the cabled riding jacket from Loop-d-loop. That one is really hard at the bodice section because you have to do so many different things on so many different rows, so I can only work on this one when I am alone and no one is talking to me.

then I got a deal on some nice rowan yarn, and it was the exact yarn that fit a pattern that jaman had shown some interest in so I had to start him one too. I didn't want the poor guy to feel left out and he needs a new hand-made sweater. it's called the herringbone jacket from the book knitting for him.

finished the slippers, I already made a post and it didn't work so I am not going to put all the same stuff because I am tired. but the slippers are on their second round in the washing machine, i hope they work. I hope my dad and ruchmini like and wear them. by the way...palm springs is beautiful!

My best friend Laura sent me this picture of the socks I made her that took almost 2 years to complete. I finished them about a year ago and now I have a picture. she has her boots on but they look super cool.

no, it's not that I don't know how to post pictures...oh blah blah, it's just that i don't always have the stuff I need close at hand and crap like that.

see! I know how, it's just that I don't have the hook up from the camera to the computer or the pictures that are on Jaman's computer on this computer. big problems going on in the world. I am sure I will figure all of this out. but the big things that I want to talk about are the fact that there is a whole lot of knitting going on in my life these days. I have started the cabled riding jacket out of loop-d-loop and am almost at the bodice but after i finish the waist, i have to start on some obligatory projects like a mohawk hat this lady is purchasing from me for her grandson and some slippers for gifts that need to be done in a week, I can not disclose the names for whom the slippers will belong until a week from today. once I finish those things, I have to make a hat for my friend karin's boy friend who is very sweet and has been wonderful and supportive and fabulous to her and deserves a hat. I already got the yarn for it, i am thinking of the pattern in my head. Then I will go back to my beloved cabled riding jacket.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted. Part of the reason is that I don't know how to post pictures. Oh, could that little photo icon top right have something to do with it? I swear they didn't have that before and no one would help me. Guess I'll have to do it all by myself. Do you feel sorry for me yet? ... That wasn't so bad. This is a creative commons-licensed photo. Okay,

I am back. I just need to get the picture thing going. I now live in Arkansas and manage a yarn shop called the Handworks Gallery. I just found out that I passed my Arkansas state board for massage exam and will now be lisenced in Arkansas! yahoo, now I can knit, massage and farm! My three favorite things. Everything is looking up these days.

Lately I am working on about a million projects. We have a group knitting project that I am working on some squares for. I am almost done with that. I am almost done with a sweater back. The half dollar cardigan from the new interweave Knits. I finished one entrelac sock and on to the next. what else...I am knitting a blanket for a woman who hurt her hands knitting it, she is paying me. I am looking forward to getting these obligitory knits done so I can get on with my own creative stuff. Seems like I am always saying that. More later, Heather

I just knit for four hours straight. I would have knit more but I am very tired and have to work very early in the morn. I am almost done with the bilaro from the summer issue of interweave knits. I am knitting it for the store. I hope it's good enough to hang up. It sure takes a long time to make. It's a sweater. Plus, I think it is a bit too big. it'll work as a garmet but my gauge with this yarn and my knitting seems to be a little off. love, heather

yes, I know... I have really been neglecting all of my fans by not making entries on my blog. I guess more people would read if I wrote more. I have been knitting a lot. I have designed a couple of tank tops, very cute . one is crochet and one knitted. now I am working on a shrug to match the knitted tank. I am also working on a bolaro. the one in interweve knits. I am using bamboo yarn which took me forever to get the gauge right. I tried three different needle sizes and ended up making about six different swatches. I finally took a friend's advise and used bamboo needles and made an 8x8 swatch and measured in about six different places. It's finally working out. I am thinking about a baby sweater next, for my friend Jana's baby. I am going to try and design it. I also have two pair of socks waiting around to be worked on. peace, heather

I am in new orleans with my dad. we are having lots of fun, mainly people watching and just walking around. we are getting along well and having lots of fun. I went to the yarn shop in the french quarter called Quarter stitch. They have lots of beautiful stuff. I am going back today to make a purchase. Thursday mornings i have a little bit of time alone before i have a 9 hour work day. I like to spend these times looking at knitting blogs and doing a little bit of homework. I was reading Pins and needles and thought i better write something or whoever sees my blog on tracy's blog is gonna think i'm some sissy blogger. I don't write much. I guess because I think blogs are more interesting if they have pictures and i am having a hard time getting my pictures figured out. Oh well, anyway, i was working really hard on laura's knee socks done in Fine marino wool, but I had to rip them out twice because they were definately too big. I made a smaller one and sent it to her in the mail to see if it's gonna fit before i spend another entire day on one and find out it's too small. I don't know what has been happening to my gauge lately... it seems like thinks turn out too big lately. I need advice. maybe i'm not giving the project enough stretch factor.so anyway, my knitting class is great!! I love my ladies, they are all learning how to make a hat now. It's lots of fun. I will be teaching a learn to crochet class at cozy on March 20. This class teaching thing is great!!! I am learning a lot too!! peace out heather

jaman's sweater

i finished jaman's sweater and today is the third day in a row that he has worn it. that makes me very happy, he also asked me to make him another one exactly like it, but maybe in a different color. i am pleased.

i am working hard on my temperment these days, along with trying to get all a's in school and still knit. it's a hard job but it's work that needs to be done.

I also just put in a proposal for a knitting class to teach at my school in the evenings. i really hope people want to take it!!! So that's about it for the day I am going to put some pictures on on jaman's sweater, as soon as i can get him to stand still for a minute, and stuff like that.

it's been so long since i've last written, anyone who's read this must think i am a slacker blogger. but i am busy with school so i don't have much chance to do stuff on the blog. it does help me to just write a few things that i am thinking and stuff and stuff. i know that pictures are better than writting. so i'll try to find one. i am working on so many different things these days, finishing up on jaman's sweater. on the last sleeve, i need to work harder on my mother's blanket. and then there's jaman's mom's scarf, the jacket i started for myself because i couldn't resist the bulky yarn and the instant gratification. oh my god, i am working on so many things at once and finals, i am going insane, but i sort of think i like it this way, because i keep doing it. i don't know. anyway, i think i'm doing alright in school. i helped build a barn for my farm maintence class, i feel pretty good about that. that's all.ps no pics could be found at this time.hl

off to the anual knitters cult weekend in asheville, where 10 of us rent a beautiful house in the mountains, watch the leaves change color, knit, talk, drink wine and have a great time. i'll post pictures later!

today i got my feelings hurt over some silly stuff. seems like i have a problem taking no for an answer. i know it's true. i guess i'll leave it at that. i felt like i was in highschool, or even middle school, i felt so insecure that someone didn't like me. someone that i really like. but really she was just being honest with me about what she was able to do. when i was sad and cried, jaman was really sweet to me. he just gave me a hug for as long as i needed. and never said i was silly or anything. that was exactly what i needed. he is exactly what i need.

so, tonight, we went to happy hour, where jaman's graduate group meets to just hang out casually and discuss class, or just anything. i brought my knitting so he wouldn't feel like he had to entertain me. and so i wouldn't get bored. turned out that there was another knitter in the group, then another gal came in and saw that i was knitting, she said, "Are you knitting?" yes, " i have knitting needles and yarn in my car, will you teach me?" Of course!! she caught on very quickly and we knit together the whole time. it was lots of fun. i bring a scarf that i am knitting for myself, out of a beautiful mohair ( red and orange range of colors) that my friend, erin, gave me. it's turning out great! it smells like smoke, but i'm sure i'll get it out some time.

anyway, since i'm new to this whole blog thing, i guess i'll just put my thoughts and rants about me and my life and my knitting. and i don't really care who reads this. i sometimes don't want to tell anyone my blog address, because, what if i want to show something i am making them or what if i get really pissed off and write about them. oh well, heather

i'm still new at this whole blog thing, but it's pretty fun feeling so far. Jaman really helped me out with setting it up.
Last night i cast on for his sweater. i'm using cascade 22o, it is a very soft wool to work with. the sweater will be very basic, no cables or anything fancy. i told him that he has to wear it, no matter what. i don't care if he riuns it while wearing it, he just must wear it. it's my first sweater and i just hope it turns out great! i am using the pattern from the knitters handy book of patterns. just with a garter stitch at the bottom and a crew neck. the rest is knit and purl baby! so i'm in business.
right now, as a side project when i get bored of the grey and need a new color to look at , i am also working on a scarf out of the rowan, silk and mohair. it's so wonderful to work with. it's this amazing orange.
that's all for now, i've got to do a little studying before i get ready for school.
